Join us at the University of the Sciences to discuss current issues faced by women in the brewing industry.  Megan Parisi, brewer at Boston Beer Company will open with a keynote followed by a panel discussion of women leaders in the industry.  The discussion continues at a networking brunch at City Tap House University City featuring beers from our presenters (pay-as-you-go.)

PCCY Block By Block Party
First annual Block By Block Party sponsored by Public Citizens for Children and Youth will feature 2,000 young Minecrafters building together at USciences as well as STEM-themed festivities and family fun.

The Block by Block Party will be a safe, kid friendly gaming event that uses Minecraft to build STEM skills, involve children in creative constructive play, develop critical thinking skills and encourage collaboration children via an on-line platform and is especially designed for gamers 17 and under.

The Block By Block Party will raise funds for a new grant program for innovative strategies to bring hi-tech learning tools into Philadelphia classrooms as well as support Public Citizens for Children and Youth, celebrating its 37th year of effective child advocacy in the region.

Accessing Jobs in The Skilled Trades
An informative workshop on “Accessing Jobs in the Skilled Trades” presented by Walt McGill, Founder of Construction Apprenticeship Preparatory Program (CAPP). CAPP is a 15-week classroom based curriculum designed to prepare applicants for building trade union entrance exams. CAPP also assists with securing an apprenticeship with a building trade union. Mr. McGill will provide an overview of various trade unions, discuss how to earn an apprenticeship and give important tips in preparing for skilled trade opportunities. Representatives from University of the Sciences, Clemens Construction, Maven Inc. and Rittenhouse Strategies will be present to answer any relevant project specific questions.
